Marilyn Jennings was born and raised in Stayner, Ontario,
a small farming community of about 1500 people, in Eastern Canada.
She has lived in Calgary, Alberta, a Western Canadian city of 800,00 people
and the Oil Capital of Canada, since 1979. She was married for 35
years to her husband Ed, who gave her his continued love, encouragement
and support until his sudden passing in 1997. Together they had two daughters,
Sherri and Shelli and six grandchildren. Sherri and her husband Tim
are in Real Estate. Shelli and her husband Tom are both lawyers.
Having over 30 years in the real estate business Marilyn
is one of North America's leading Real Estate Salespeople and her achievements
are truly incredible! She is the author of the international best sellers
Championship Selling and Bull’s-Eye Negotiating,
and her latest book My No-Fail Million Dollar Business Plan
is rapidly heading in the same direction.
She is a much sought after speaker for sales meetings and
conventions and addresses over 200 Mini-Rallies annually; has made numerous
television and radio appearances on both national and local programs, and
has been featured in numerous magazine and newspaper articles.
Perhaps an article in the February 14, 1986 edition of
the Calgary Herald summed Marilyn’s story up best. In his column of
that date, widely read and respected business writer Charles Frank wrote
the following: “In Calgary real estate circles, Marilyn Jennings
is a legend in her own time. The 42 year-old Jennings has been the top ranked
Female Real Estate Salesperson with the Calgary Real Estate Board for the
last four years. In 1984 she was the Board's Top Performer male or female.
In 1985, her sales commissions alone topped the $500,000 mark.”
During the 80’s and 90’s Marilyn carried over
50 active listings at all times and sold over 200 homes annually for eight
consecutive years. In both 1989 and 1990 Marilyn earned over $700,000 working
only 6 months out of the year.
